Inspiration & Progressive Action

Inspiration & Progressive Action

Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.
— Pablo Picasso

Inspiration. It has a way of sneaking up on you. It doesn't wait for the right time. It isn't a thought that is twisted and convoluted by our own mind. Inspiration is a sensual feeling, one that demands our full attention. It can creep up slowly and manifest into a warm fuzzy feeling throughout the entire body. It can also arrive suddenly, uninvited and it may distract you from tasks at hand. It grabs hold and begs to be the catalyst into progressive action. But, you have to be diligent towards it, for how quickly it arrives is also how quickly it can depart. What a shame that would be to have missed the opportunity to fulfill energetic purpose that our body is called to? Inspiration does not have to be "warranted" or forcefully drawn into existence. Instead, inspiration attaches itself to many different facets of our lives and there is never one way to fulfill its potential. It is important to set intentions that help us become more aware of the sensations that point towards inspiration or we can miss it completely. If you find yourself daydreaming or stuck on a special idea or concept, inspiration is looming. If you burst into excitement and joy while talking about a specific topic or thought, inspiration is pulling you in! Sometimes you may feel inspired but unable to move that energy into progressive action and that is okay. It is crucial to realize though that without action, inspiration does not stick around for very long. Brainstorm, draw, journal, cook, design, create, discuss. Whatever you decide, put your whole heart into your action because inspiration also doesn't like being half-assed and will quickly turn into a burden if left to sit for too long. So be diligent!

No matter what this next month may bring, can you focus your attention towards that feeling of energetic, burning inspiration that randomly bubbles into existence? Can you nurture it and expand it into something big? This sacred life unveils shots of awe that have the potential to ignite passion and connection in all of us. Once inspiration is felt and acted upon, grand feelings of fulfillment will flow into existence and you will experience a window into wonderland. Inspiration is the driving force that generates ideas and moves our thoughts from stagnation to determined action. It truly does change the inner and outer world.
